Newsweek Names Toyota One of the World’s Greenest Companies

In the month of June, Newsweek named Toyota as one of the World’s Greenest Companies. Toyota was competing with highly-regarded brands like Microsoft, Google, Nike and Coke. Toyota moved up 57 spots this year compared to last year - putting them #35 on the list. The impending release of the Mirai fuel call vehicle is a big reason why Toyota ranked so high. This vehicle emits only water vapor through its tailpipe. Toyota was also #2 when it comes to the World's Greenest Companies from an auto standpoint. Toyota's green initiatives saved 93+ million gallons of water in North America in 2014.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the world’s greenest companies,” said Jim Lentz, Toyota Motor North America chief executive officer. “Through continuous improvement, our global teams have made great strides in reducing our environmental impact. From hybrids to fuel cells, Toyota is at the forefront of developing energy efficient technologies. We are deeply committed to contributing to the environment, our communities, and to leading the future of sustainable mobility.”

According to Newsweek, "The Newsweek Green Rankings are one of the world's most recognized assessments of corporate environmental performance. Based on research from Corporate Knights Capital and HIP (Human Impact + Profit) Inventor Inc., the 2015 iteration of the project features eight indicators that are used to assess and measure the environmental performance of the world's largest publicly traded companies."

Summer Road Trip - Larry H. Miller Toyota Corona

Are you planning a Summer Road Trip? If so, here at Larry H. Miller Toyota Corona, we want to make sure you are prepared before you take the drive! Toyota has put together several Pro Tips below to help make sure your trip goes as smooth as possible!

1. Bounce on over to your local dealership for a quick vehicle inspection. Your dealer can also check to see if there are open recalls on your vehicle.

2. Boogie down the road on safe tires. Be sure your tires are properly inflated.

3. Build an emergency kit. Include a cell phone charger, bottled water, nonperishable food, first aid kit, flashlight, flares, white flag, maps, paper towels, and basic repair tools.

4. Buckle your young children in correctly installed car seats.

5. Block out driver distractions. Texting, dialing, or just reaching for a phone call can triple your risk of crashing. Let your passenger pick the summer playlist.

Also, before you go on your roadtrip, it is important that you have your regular maintenance done (tune-ups, oil change, battery check, tire rotation) to prevent a breakdown. If your vehicle has been serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, it should be in good condition to travel. If not—or you don’t know the service history of the vehicle you plan to drive—schedule a preventive maintenance checkup with our service dept by calling direct 951-898-2225. Owners may not always know their recalled vehicle still needs to be repaired. LHM Toyota Corona VIN Lookup Tool lets you enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to quickly learn if a specific vehicle has not been repaired as part of a safety recall in the last 15 years.
